HOUSEOFARAGON'S FIRST TAPE RELEASE. WOO. YEAH. HIGH FIVE. FIST PUMP IT UP.
AT THE MOMENT I AM STARING OUTSIDE THE WINDOW AT A DUDE WHO CONSTANTLY KEEPS CHECKING OUT HIS OWN WINDOW. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HE'S UP TO.
ALRIGHT, SO HUMAN RESOURCES WHO IS JEREMY KRINSLEY HAS A NEW TAPE RELEASE ON HOUSE OF ARAGON. (THIS SOUNDS REALLY FUN TO SAY.) IT WILL BE RELEASED NEXT MONTH WHENEVER WE GET THEM BACK FROM THE FRIENDLY MAN WHO IS DUBBING THEM. ALL IN TIME TO SEND SOME OFF TO ANDYRA FROM TALK NORMAL AND OUR TRIP TO MONTERREY AND AUSTIN. THEN I SUPPOSE I SHOULD SEND THEM OUT TO OTHER PEOPLE IN THE WONDERFUL MUSIC WORLD.
WE HAD A LOT OF DEBATING OVER ALBUM ART, I THINK I GOT FLUSTERED A BIT ONCE BECAUSE HE ORIGINALLY WANTED TO USE LADY GAGA (WHO I LOVE) WITH REALLY WEIRD 80'S FONT. (SORRY JEREMY) THEN WE LOOKED UP CARS WHICH LED TO THE POSSIBILITY OF USING A SEXY LADY POSING IN FRONT OF ONE. I COULD'VE CRIED I GUESS, BUT NOT REALLY BECAUSE IT ALL ENDED UP BEING REALLY FUNNY.
ENDED UP WITH THIS. THE CASSETTE TAPE ITSELF WILL BE A CLEAR RED TINT.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEREMY KRINSLEY.

CHATROULETTE: SWIMMING IN A SEA OF DICKS.
Where the idea of seeing a dude masturbate into green salad is no longer shocking, it's boring. Kinda like how you become desensitized to the site of boobs after watching girls gone wild. (Don't take it from me.)
Chatroulette is old news, there's even a "best of" already, but by the start of this week I was surprised to find many friends who still had no clue what Chatroulette is. (In their defense, they're either too cool for the internet or so old school they still had yahoo accounts.) So for those few who don't, it's like aim with a webcam with random people face to face and worth the experience if only for the weird shit you see people do and socially convenient with a new random person a click away. TRY IT.
There's two sides to this fence, you're either ape shit giddy excited about it (at least for the first fifteen minutes, then like a bad relationship you're over it but just can't seem to get rid of it) or you're one of those who think it's satan gone viral. Yes, I'm looking at you Tim Walker! You really think we need to lock up our kids over this? Did you manage to stick your foot in your mouth after realizing that in fact a kid created it? Kids are smart and not as vulnerable when it comes to the internet as you suggest in your article. Anyways, another time this is an art blog for god-sake.
Whatever side you're on, the time you spend on Chatroulette will most definitely involve masturbating men, people with masks, the Jonas Brothers, ravers, and young people acting out there exhibitionist side similar to performance art, see? this really is an art blog.
Microcosm much? One dudes take via: Festival of Awkward Thanks Finchy.
In Chatroulette:
People judge you based on your looks, they call you faggot or make fun of your appearance even though they don’t know you, because it’s easy to be mean guilt-free if you never have to talk to the person again.
People who actually want to have a conversation with you are rare; it’s much more common for somebody to show you their dick or ask to see your tits.
If you don’t have tits, most men won’t talk to you, and most women won’t talk to you if you’re not up to their standard.
It seems like 4 out of 5 people you meet don’t speak your language, but when you do finally meet somebody friendly, you know it’s only a matter of time before they’ll disappear probably never to be heard from again.

ON HOW I HATE FASHION, BUT LOVE ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
:::edited version on Impose Magazine :::
Yes, admitting I hate fashion while loving Alexander Mcqueen is a contradiction unto itself considering he was a fucking fashion powerhouse, but I confess this in the same vain when I say I hate the art world yet am completely inspired by art and try to live as a real artist. Alexander Mcqueen, became one of the few designers that helped to present fashion in its purest form as a walking canvas, so it was tragic, heartbreaking news to hear that someone I had complete respect for as artist took his own life.
To be more clear and quite frank, I hate how the fashion world presents itself with its rail thin models (no one looks like this, and girls should not aspire to this), the commercialization is completely annoying, (have you seen the NY Times online today?- no, I do not care for you Polo), and to quote Tanya Gold of the Guardian on why she hates fashion, "fashion is like a Jewish mother on crack, This will make you beautiful! This will make men want you! Wear this! Wear that!" This point, however, is one of the few I agree with on Gold's piece, the rest is how should I put it- I dont know- ridiculous. These same issues resonate in art, music, literature, the necessity of keeping things out the grasp of the greedy who want to commercialize art by turning it into a cash cow, chewing it up for all it's worth, then spitting it back in your face without an ounce of sincerity. Why do you think we champion new music so much?
And yet, with the ability to permeate even the most indomitable of minds (speaking mainly of my teenage self here), Alexander McQueen's vision and designs were free, bombastic, a blood rush to the head and made me realize my cynicism towards fashion was directly related to what I see distorted in the media. My first introduction to Mcqueen came with the arrival of Bjork's album "Homogenic" which he did the album art for as well as his video direction for the single "Alarm Call" from the same album. My obsession continued from there, and as one of the few creative forces, presented fashion as a raw, emotional, spiritual, and inspiring form of art. And yes, aside from the monster the fashion and art world have become there's still an honest sincerity in many to create from the heart and gut, and I applaud those who do.
Fashion darling, Tavi Gevinson, the 13 year old blogger of Style Rookie said it ever so eloquently, "He consistently delivered collections of extravagant creativity, the type of stuff where you just look at it and try to absorb it and you can't believe a person made this. Being lucky enough to gaze at a glimpse into such an artist's vision, and knowing that you can't even imagine everything that was put into making it, and suddenly feeling so happy and joyful about humanity, and life, because, Jesus, a person made this..is incredibly uplifting"
Uplifting indeed. R.I.P. Mcqueen.

THE MAGIC MOUNTAIN BY THOMAS MANN
TWO DAYS' TRAVEL SEPARATED THE YOUTH- HE WAS STILL TOO YOUNG TO HAVE THRUST HIS ROOTS DOWN FIRMLY INTO LIFE- FROM HIS OWN WORLD, FROM ALL THAT HE THOUGHT OF AS HIS OWN DUTIES, INTERESTS, CARES AND PROSPECTS; FAR MORE THAN HE HAD DREAMED IT WOULD WHEN HE SAT IN THE CARRIAGE ON THE WAY TO THE STATION. SPACE, ROLLING AND REVOLVING BETWEEN HIM AND HIS NATIVE HEATH, POSSESSED AND WIELDED THE POWERS WE GENERALLY ASCRIBE TO TIME. FROM HOUR TO HOUR IT WORKED CHANGES IN HIM, LIKE TO THOSE WROUGHT BY TIME, YET IN A WAY EVEN MORE STRIKING. SPACE, LIKE TIME, ENGENDERS FORGETFULNESS, BUT IT DOES SO BY SETTING US BODILY FREE FROM OUR SURROUNDINGS AND GIVING US BACK OUR PRIITIVE, UNATTACHED STATE. YES, IT CAN EVEN, IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE, MAKE SOMETHING LIKE A VAGABOND OF THE PEDANT AND PHILISTINE. TIME, WE SAY, IS LETHE; BUT CHANGE OF AIR IS SIMILAR DRAUGHT, AND, IF IT WORKS LESS THOROUGHLY DOES SO MORE QUICKLY.
THANKS TO XYLA GATA.

Indie Doppelgangers!
I originally wanted this post to involve doppelgangers for the Impose staff, but turned into a no brainer game of who looks most like eric copeland? or todd p? or garfield for that matter. Jeremy who bears a strong resemblance to Crispin glover in the late 80's actually looks more like Crispin glover than he does in his own photo. (before i recently cut his hair)
Anyways, Enjoy! was up at 5am with jeremy finishing this. (after his show at shea stadium)
